Earth & KLĀ (KLĀ being the chemical name of ‘clay’; pronounced ‘Keh-La’) is a transformative space curated for you to relax, and to find your rhythm whilst immersing yourself in the art of clay making. Here you get to leave the world behind, and make space just for YOU when you attend one of our relaxing workshops.

We design and craft our tableware here at our Wembley studio in Perth, Western Australia, firing and glazing all our pieces onsite. All our pieces are made slowly, with love. No two pieces are alike – each carrying its own scattered speckles and marks, making it uniquely yours when you purchase your own Earth & KLĀ usable art.

We welcome you to explore our boutique small-group workshops and handmade offerings.

Our Story

‘When you regain a sense of your life as a journey of discovery, you return to rhythm with yourself. When you take time to travel with reverence, a richer life unfolds before you. Moments of beauty begin to braid your days’ – John O’Donohue

Earth & KLĀ was founded by Nellie Ting, a former stay-at-home mum of three beautiful children who went on to rediscover herself through the journey of clay making. Earth & KLĀ was birthed out of an innate need to find expression of life’s meaning through the meditative process of ceramic work.

‘The tactile elements of clay work are so grounding, and requires one to be fully present to create. It forces you to return to rhythm with your true self’, says Nellie.

Not unlike clay, Earth & KLĀ is a becoming. It is an invitation for you to discover beauty, and your own syncopated rhythm when you walk through our doors. We look forward to welcoming you here.

Love,

Earth & KLĀ
